Intro to Frames & Scenes in Flash

Frames display content at a specific moment in time

Keyframes denote a change in an animation

Animation occurs when the playhead moves through the timeline faster than you eye can assimilate

To select a frame
Click on the frame

To select multiple frames, click on frame and hold down the shift key as you select another

You can center the timeline on the current frame by clicking the center frame button
Add a frame
Click where you want the new frame
Right click and select Insert frame

Delete a frame
Select the frame or keyframe
Right-click and select delete

Move a frame
Click a frame to select it and drag it to its new location

Copy a frame
Alt+drag the frame
Or right-click and select copy frames

click the new location and right click and select paste frames
Scenes
By default Flash plays in Scene 1
If there are more than one scene Flash will play the next scene after the last frame in scene 1 and continue until there are no more scenes left, then it will start over.
To Add a scene
Click the window menu
Select Other Panels
Click on Scene to open the scene panel

Once the scene panel is open you can add a scene by clicking the + icon

Rename a scene
On the scene panel double-click the scene name
Type in a new name
Press Enter

Deleting a Scene
Select the scene you want to delete
Click the trashcan icon

Reorder scenes
Drag the scene above or below the other scenes
Note: Avoid reordering scenes unless you have to sometimes you can create unpredictable problems after reordering scenes
Switching to another scene
In the scene panel switch scenes by selecting another scene in the panel
You can also switch scenes by selecting it via the scene button on the edit bar
